December 2023
Important Notice from JCAW Foundation, Inc.
JCAW Foundation, Inc. (the “Foundation”) was established in 2010 to support events celebrating the 100th anniversary of Tokyo’s gift of cherry blossoms to Washington, D.C. Since 2012, after the successful completion of the centennial celebration, the Foundation has continued to support cultural, educational, and charitable activities promoting the mutual understanding and friendship between the United States and Japan, including Japanese language education, local community support, and New Year Festivals, in collaboration with Japan Commerce Association of Washington, D.C. (“JCAW”). We would like to express our sincere gratitude for all of your generous support which made these programs possible.
Over the past six months, the Board of Directors thoroughly deliberated on the previous, current, and future activities of the Foundation, and determined that the Foundation achieved its original purpose. As a result, the Board decided to dissolve the Foundation, effective December 31, 2023.
As part of the dissolution process, we will donate our remaining assets to various organizations we have supported over the years in order to assist their worthy causes.
Over the previous decade, the Foundation financially supported Japanese language education and local community activities organized in cooperation with JCAW. We have closely consulted with JCAW to ensure the continuation of these valuable programs.
Thank you so much for your generous support over the years. We sincerely wish you good health and prosperity in the future.
Tetsuo Iguchi
President of JCAW Foundation, Inc.
